TRAVEL: I enjoy expanding my worldview by experiencing other cultures firsthand. Beyond obvious differences in culture, language and appearance are familiar themes of friends, family and the desire for a life both challenging and rewarding.
CYCLING: I’m an avid recreational cyclist. I’ve raced a little in the past, but now prefer long, challeging training rides or cause rides (MS150, etc.) with friends. Over the years, I’ve completed several century rides along the East Coast and in the Midwest. I’ve ridden in winter freezing teen temperatures and in triple digit summer heat.
LITERATURE: I enjoy reading, from newspapers to (both contemporary and classic) fiction and non-fiction works. I blog, tweet and write.
FOOD: I enjoy cooking, especially learning interesting international dishes (perfecting them on myself before cooking them for others); I seek locally-owned restaurants wherever I visit and find favorite Thai, Chinese, Italian, Vietnamese, Indian and soul restaurants wherever I live.
OTHER: I also enjoy music of all genres, a good film (foreign or domestic), sports and photography.
